The La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians has an open position for:
Air Program Manager
The La Jolla Indian Reservation has a vacancy for an Air Program Manager. This position will be responsible for all
aspects of an EPA CAA§103 Air Monitoring Program. This position reports to the Environmental Director.
Start Date: Approximately October 2008
The position has the
following responsibilities:
• Provides direction, planning, supervision and
management for the program
• Operate air quality and meteorological
instrumentation
• Develop air quality codes or ordinances
• Emissions inventory, air quality database,
BMP's, AQI, etc
• Willingness to complete training courses
• Must be able to travel for trainings,
conferences, etc
• Able to supervise employees hired to
accomplish tasks for the program
• Must be highly motivated and work well
with others
• Conduct public outreach
• Other related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have the
following qualifications:
• High school diploma, preference for
BA/BS or Masters in related field
• Background in math
• Must be able to work with or without
direct supervision
• Knowledge of GIS is helpful
• Proficient on office computer and
software applications (Word, Excel,
Access, etc.)
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot
scientific instrumentation
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to maintain effective working
relationships with people of varied
backgrounds
• Valid CA drivers license
Starting Pay Rate: Based on experience, range $35,360 - $43,680
